Selling for Dad

I ran into an old friend while visiting my home-town, South Orange. I had not seen Matt for several years, since I moved to Michigan…

As we reminisced in the middle of a parking lot, I mentioned that I was going to sell my father’s house. Matt quickly handed me his brother’s business card and I left New Jersey with Mark Mattheiss’ number tucked away in my wallet.

Some time later, we spoke. I told Mark about the situation with my father, his surgeries, rehabilitation and long-term prognosis. I mentioned that once I relocated my father to live with me that I would like to sell the house. Mark said he would be available to help.

At that time, I had no clue what kind of help Mark would provide.

Mark has been incredible! He was thoughtful and professional in every conversation; he understood my reluctance to part with the house that I grew up in. He also understood that my father was struggling with the concept of “letting go” as well. Over a span of several months Mark helped me deal with several trying issues at the house, which had been unoccupied for some time. Mark tackled several challenges and kept me advised every step of the way. These issues may have left most Realtors scratching their heads wondering if the effort was worth it or, worse, walk away altogether. Mark never flinched.

I could not have been happier with the entire process. Selling a home is stressful enough, trying to coordinate the effort 600 miles away only magnifies the problem. Again, Mark came through like a true professional. I hope you recognize and appreciate his dedication to customer service as much as I do!

I will be sure to send family and friends to Mark should they be in the market.
